“Green Cultural Routes” focusing on Greece’s natural and cultural heritage

The Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism participates in the National Action Plan for the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Within this framework, the Directorate of Museums, Exhibitions and Educational Programmes implements the action “Green Cultural Routes” which aims to promote sustainable growth via the tripartite scheme of Education – Culture – Tourism.

In 2012, “Green Cultural Routes” operates on a pilot basis in the prefectures of Attica, Rethymnon and Lesvos with the collaboration of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs, local authorities, environmental organisations and local community organisations.

In 2017, “Green Cultural Routes” operates all around Greece and will take place from 25 May to 28 May, The entrance is free for all.

We suggest Museum of Byzantine Culture
1. Thursday 25 May 2017 at 11.00

Guided tour to the plant world of the Byzantines, through the exhibits of the permanent exhibition, by an archaeologist of the Museum.

2. Sunday 28 May 2017 at 11.00

Thematic tour through the Museum’s neighborhood, especially designed by our Museum in cooperation with the dot2dot group. Starting point: White Tower.
