A 62-year-old man in Grevena, northern Greece, was arrested on Thursday for the illegal possession of what police describe as a treasure trove of archaeological artifacts in his home.
A police raid yielded a total of 184 items – including an axe, jewelry, coins, clay jars, arrowheads and others – dated to the Late Bronze Age as well as the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods.
Local authorities are investigating how the man came into possession of the items.
