Greek day at Avondale Park Primary School, England

Year 5 had a historian come to school to talk all about Ancient Greece and we focussed on two city states in particular - Athens and Sparta. Before he arrived, he emailed us a list of characters from Greek history and mythology. 

We each chose a character and researched him/her and dressed up as them on the day.

During the day, we learned all about what it was like to grow up in Ancient Greece.

We then re-enacted some of our favourite myths from that time.

We even solved Ancient Greek maths problems.

At the end of the day, we had the opportunity to try on authentic armour, masks, helmets and even hold real weapons that would have been used at this time.
